MSP CompanyTime Travel Shenanigans

As an MSP company, you would love it if you could travel in time, identify massive trends and deploy them preemptively. Unfortunately, there’s no way to do that— or is there?

It could be possible to send yourself help that emanates from “the future.” A way to do this would be analyzing causality pertaining to technology decisions throughout your company and among clients. Look at the “Butterfly Effect.” This is an illustration used to describe what is called “chaos theory.” The opposite of chaos is the result–but things seem chaotic because their “cause” is hard to identify. Sunday, February 25th, 2018

MSP CompanyIf you want your MSP company to be successful, you need a story to tell. Your story expresses your company’s goals, origins, and culture. It should tell your clients who you are, and more importantly, why they should choose you over your competitors.

Most marketing companies recommend that you craft your story in a way that makes it perfect for social media sharing. MSP Marketing Lessons from Disney’s “Aladdin”

msp marketingEveryone is a Diamond in the Rough

MSP marketing needs to understand that true value and strength will most effectively and profoundly develop from character rather than money. Aladdin was a “diamond in the rough” not because of his personal identity, but because of his internal identity. There are multiple areas in the Disney film “Aladdin” where it’s shown the title character has moral character. He gives his food to the young, he saves the princess just because she’s a person, not because she is royalty, he cares for a foul-mouthed monkey despite his own poverty— the list goes on. This made Aladdin stand out more than anything else did; it truly made him a jewel. (more…)

Can IT Websites Accomplish Lead Generation at the Bottom of Page One?

IT Lead GenerationLead Generation Isn’t Confined to the Top Links

IT lead generation should still happen, even if your keywords haven’t gotten you to the top of the first search engine results page (SERP). SERPs have a certain statistical number of clicks, which include those at the bottom of the first page and toward the top of the second. You should see your traffic increase, even if you don’t have one of the top positions that come from a keyword of high volume. When traffic increases, leads should as well. If they don’t, there may be something else wrong that you need to think about. (more…)

Does Your MSP Business Website Factor in Lazy Prospects?

MSP BusinessWorking with Customers on Their Terms

Your MSP business is going to encounter many different types of clients. Some of them aren’t going to operate on the kinds of timetables you are used to or ones that may ultimately be the most profitable for all parties concerned.

Consider this: those who are searching for something on the web may be less inclined to engage in close exploration. The web is convenient, and clients using it to source things like MSP support are likewise hunting for convenience. Maybe it’s fair to call them lazy, maybe not. However, what you’re likely to experience is users of this type taking very little time to look at your site before moving on. Accordingly, you don’t want to give such potential leads any reason to waste time. Contact details should be immediately available. It may even make sense to have a digital pop-up bot that interacts when a newcomer accesses your page. Be careful, though; these things can be irritating if they’re not properly managed. (more…)

Can Your MSP Business Learn from ‘the Emperor’s New Groove’?

Sunday, February 18th, 2018

MSP BusinessAn MSP business could be compared to a ship on the high seas. Sometimes, the wind is up, and the sales are full. Sometimes, the waters are calm and forward motion is slow. Sometimes, a storm kicks up and knocks the vessel off course. The leader of an MSP has many qualities that are like a captain. He’s looked up to by everyone on the team, and the way this individual’s personal conduct is communicated will impact the entire operation.

A good and fun way to understand this might be through a brief review of Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove. In this film, David Spade plays an emperor who is turned into a llama. Where once the king was proud and arrogant, as a llama, such arrogance cannot be tolerated. This character’s name is Kuzco, and through an adventure across South American jungles with a man named Pacha, Kuzco comes to understand the plight of his people. His perspective changes accordingly. At the end of the film, he has been humbled. (more…)

What IT Marketing Secrets Are in ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’?

Saturday, February 17th, 2018

IT MarketingIT marketing needs to have its own “flavor.” You can’t appropriate from another marketing provider. Doing that is rather like the character Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s A Nightmare Before Christmas. In this Disney film, a mythical land designed around Halloween has a sort of mascot/prince character who experiences Christmas and becomes so enamored of the idea that he tries to bring about a Halloween knock-off. Though Skellington had good intentions, all he ended up doing was messing things up. (more…)
