IT lead generation has to work with modernity, not against it. In modernity, human attention spans have dived below that of a goldfish’s; at least according to last May’s Time Magazine. There’s no way around this, except some post-apocalyptic scenario; so marketers need to work with such trends.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. If so, then one second containing twenty-eight pictures (or frames) is worth 2,800 words; and a minute is worth 168,000; or slightly more words than exist in The Fellowship of the Rings.

Somewhere in there the analogy breaks down, but the point stands: visual communication is exceptionally effective, and in today’s market, may be the best way to reach your clientele. Research indicates that a colored visual — not even specifically a “picture”; just a visual with some pizazz –increases the likelihood of a user reading content by 80%. In addition, 46% of marketers swear by such illustrative techniques, indicating that substantial use of pictures is key in their lead generation strategy. (more…)
